  • Oct 5 (Sat), noon-4 pm, "Octoberfest" at Majestic Park, 5535 W. Majestic Ave., Rathdrum. Brews, brats, bands, live music, local artisan craft vendors, & food trucks. Kids' activities include: gunny sack races, face painting, bounce house, pumpkin pie-eating contest & more.

  • Oct 5 (Sat), 1 pm, "Annual Oktoberfest" at Harrison City Park, Hwy 97. Root beer garden for kids, hosted by Community Library Network (FREE root beer floats for kids & parents). Live music by JamShack accompanies a gathering of great food, people & local brews. 

  • Oct 8 (Tues), 10 am-noon, "Coffee With a Cop" will be offered at Riverstone's Starbucks, 2356 N. Old Mill Loop, CdA. A simple get-together with CdA law enforcement & a chance for the community to show support for our men & women in blue.

  • Oct 11 (Fri), 5-8 pm, "ArtWalk" the sidewalks of downtown CdA. A FREE & fun evening for all ages visiting galleries, watching artists at work & hearing musicians serenade the crowds. Enjoy pop-up art displays, complimentary beverages/food & the local hospitality vibe. Click HERE for more info & map. ArtWalk takes place on the 2nd Friday of each month.

  • Oct 12 (Sat), 9 am, "Ribbon Cutting & Open House" at Kootenai Co. Fire Station, 4503 N. Charleville Rd., Post Falls. Observe the traditional fire service ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by tours of the new facility & fire/EMS equipment demonstrations. Learn hands-only CPR too.

  • Oct 16 (Wed), 6-8 pm, "Inktober Free Draw" at Emerge, 119 N. 2nd St., CdA. Designed for ages 16+, get ready to draw all things spooky. RSVP HERE. 

  • Oct 19 (Sat), 9 am-3 pm, "A Celebration of Family History" at Hayden Lake FamilySearch Center, 2293 W. Hanley Ave., CdA. FREE lunch, prizes, classes, keynote speaker & more! All are welcome! More info HERE.

  • ​Oct 19 (Sat), 10 am-3 pm, "Museum of North Idaho Harvest Festival" at JC White House (new museum location), 720 E. Young Ave., CdA. Celebrate the autumn season at MONI's new location w/hayrides, pumpkin painting, live music, history demonstrations/programs, food vendors & a beer garden. FREE & open to the public!​

  • Oct 19 (Sat), 7-10 pm, "A Night Under the Stars" at Old Mission State Park, 31732 S. Mission Rd., Cataldo. Presented by Coeur d'Alene Astronomy Club, gather for a spectacular show in the sky, including the moon, stars & a view of Saturn. Hot tea & s'mores will be provided as well as warmth around a fire pit. Have a telescope? Take it along. RSVP to Ranger Rob at rob.brewer@idpr.idaho.gov. Parking fee may apply.

  • Oct 24 (Thurs), 10 am-3 pm, "sqiqwts ha'chsetq'it (Water Potato Day)" by Coeur d'Alene Tribe Natural Resources at 57 Chatcolet Rd., Plummer. A cherished tradition honoring traditional foods & gathering practices, tribal members & community is invited. Boots & shovels will be ready for those eager to unearth the treasures of sqiqwts. Dress warm & go prepared for a fun, muddy experience.

  • Oct 9 (Wed), 5 pm, "Domestic Violence Awareness" at Pinehurst Library, presented by CLN & Shoshone Co. Crisis & Resource Center. Learn from an incredible survivor via her story how to recognize the signs of domestic violence, how to escape an unsafe relationship, & how to advocate.

  • Oct 12 (Sat), 9 am-1 pm, "Teddy Bear Clinic" at Kootenai Health Resource Center, 2003 Kootenai Health Way, CdA. Open house event geared for ages 3-7 includes Teddy check-ups, hands-o stations, crafts/games & healthy snacks. No registration needed.

The six-hour course given over (3) consecutive Saturdays will cover how to identify bird groups/species, bird identification & how to become involved locally. Optional field trip.   • Oct 10 (Thurs), 5:30-6:30 pm, "The Literacy Project of North Idaho" volunteer training session at NIC Hedlund Bldg., 420 N. College Dr., Room 228, CdA. Volunteers help area adults gain basic literacy & computer skills so they can succeed as parents, workers & community members.
