  • April 17 (Fri), 9 am-noon, "Free Shred Day" at Washington Trust Bank, 1601 E. Seltice Way, Post Falls. Secure drive-thru event to dispose of sensitive documents & personal info on-site such as bank/credit card statements, tax documents, medical records, & paycheck stubs. No binders or hard drives.

  • April 18 (Sat), 8-11 am, "Coeur d'Alene Cars & Coffee" in the parking lot of Coeur d'Alene Church of the Nazarene, 4000 N. 4th St., CdA. No registration & always FREE to attend - show up with your vehicle to socialize w/other car/truck enthusiasts. Spectator parking on gravel lot; overflow show car parking on the grass. Car clubs are welcome. Coffee & donuts (by donation); vendors on site too. 50/50 raffle benefits Jesus in Jail Ministry which provides Bibles to inmates in Kootenai Co. Jail. Please arrive & leave quietly - shhhh - in respect for the neighborhood.

  • FARMERS MARKETS & CRAFT FAIRS >

  • April 25 (Sat), 10 am-2 pm, "Community Recycle Day" at Post Falls City Hall, 408 N. Spokane St. (use 5th Ave. entrance). Post Falls residents can drop off old electronics (computers, printers, monitors), cardboard (flattened), & paper for shredding. Post Falls Police Dept. will accept old unwanted prescription medications for safe disposal also. Participants will receive FREE insulated grocery bags, recycling calendars & more. See flyer HERE.

  • April 25 (Sat), 2 pm, "Wild Spring Mushrooms of Northern Idaho" presentation at Sprag Pole Bar & Museum, 6353 Prichard Creek Rd., Murray. Mushroom enthusiast Rebecca Richardson will give tips for mushroom hunting. Take specimens for help w/identification too! Be sure to see the museum while there. Admission is FREE; donations welcome.

  • April 16 (Thurs), 1-3:45 pm, "Lunch/Snacks Distribution" provided by non-profit, Outreach Eats at Rathdrum Skate Park, located across from Mountain View School, 7802 Main Street. Snacks are also served at Stub Myers Park, 320 W. 4th St., Rathdrum, from 1-3:45 pm every Tuesday.

  • April 21 (Tues), 11 am-1 pm, "2nd Harvest Mobile Market" at St. Vincent de Paul Help Center, 210 E. Harrison Ave., CdA. Up to 250 families facing hunger will receive fresh & non-perishable food items at this drive-through event. No app't needed. Also: April 30, 11 am-1 pm at Cormana Bldg., 1101 W. Idaho Ave., St. Maries; May 6, 11 am-1 pm at Sysco, 300 N. Baugh Way, Post Falls; & June 25, July 30 & Aug 27 at St. Maries HS, 424 Hells Gulch Rd., St. Maries. 

  • COMPLIMENTARY WEEKLY CHURCH MEALS in Post Falls, CdA, Hayden & Osburn >

  • April 21 (Tues), 4:30-6:30 pm, "Free Community Meal" provided by Cup of Grace, 31848 N. 4th Ave., Spirit Lake (behind bank) for area residents. Join neighbors & meet new ones at this friendly, weekly gathering every Tuesday. All ages are welcome! For to-go meals, take your own clean, sealable container.

  • April 22 (Wed), 8-9:30 am, "Veterans Appreciation Breakfast" at Legends Park Assisted Living, 1820 N. Legends Pkwy, CdA. Each month veterans & their families are invited to enjoy a full breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, coffee & juices - FREE of charge! Please RSVP to 208-699-6015. Offered every 3rd Wednesday of each month.

  • April 22 (Wed), noon, "LOU: Lunch on Us" at Bayview Community Center, 20298 E. Perimeter Road. Meet w/neighbors - all are welcome - to enjoy a FREE lunch every Wednesday.   • April 18 (Sat), 8:30 & 9 am, "Celebrate Earth Day" with a morning bird walk for ages 13+ on Tubbs Hill led by Coeur d'Alene Audubon Society. Begin at the bird sign at the east trailhead (SE side-11th Street). Binoculars are recommended for the 1 1/2-hour tour. Please no pets or children under age 7. From 10 am-2 pm, attend "Book Repair Cafe" at CdA Library to save a worn book from the dumpster. Librarians will repair broken-spine books & glue together other loose pieces/pages.

  • April 30 (Thurs), 10 am, "Fraud Awareness" at CdA Library, presented by Global Credit Union. Topics will include phishing, skimming, scammers adaptation, credit monitoring, BBB Scam Tracker, online acc't security & what to do if victimized. Additional program at 5 pm, "Smart Money" covers topics such as budget basics, good savings habits, understanding credit reports & the cost of credit, retirement investing & more. Both classes are for ages 16+ and will be held in the Gozzer Room. More dates: July 30 & Oct 29. 

  • May 2 (Sat), 11 am-1 pm, "Succulent Gardens & Pot Decorating" at Harrison Library. Presented by local garden expert Sue Bockelman, create a mini garden w/decorations. Supplies are provided. Also: May 8, 10:30 am-12:30 pm, Hayden.

  • May 5 (Tues), 3:30 pm, "Spring Walking Adventures: Medicinal Plants in Your Backyard" for ages 13 & older on Tubbs HIll. Meet by the moose statue outside of the Children's Library for the group walk led by Dr. Casey Carr. No dogs, please.

  • May 9 (Sat), 12:30-2 pm, "The Art of Book Folding" at Hayden Library. Convert old books into decorative conversation pieces with an easy-to-learn craft technique. Also: June 13. 

  • May 7 (Thurs), 4-6 pm, "Lawyer in the Library" at CdA Library. A free resource held on the 1st Thursday of each month, & provided by Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program for low income individuals & families who need civil legal services (no criminal issues). Registration is required & must be completed 24 hours in advance. Link to the library's calendar HERE.

  • May 15 (Fri), 11 am, "A Lark at the State Park" for all ages is an outdoor program sponsored by Coeur d'Alene Library & Idaho State Parks Department at Higgens Point, east end of Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive, CdA. Celebrate birds w/silly stories, fascinating facts, bird ballads, avian activities & a FREE book! Allow time to hike the 1/3-mile paved trail from the parking lot up to the picnic shelter. 

  • May 16 (Sat), 10 am-1 pm, "Community Plant Swap" sponsored by CdA Library at Shared Harvest Community Garden, 1009 E. Foster Ave., CdA. Take & receive bedding plants.

  • May 2 (Sat), 4 pm, "Guns & Hoses Hockey Game" at Frontier Ice Arena, 3525 W. Seltice Way, Post Falls. A fun night supporting the Red & Blue Foundation. Be there to cheer on Law Enforcement vs. Firefighters. A sell-out family-friendly event each year, so order tickets online HERE. Kids under age 7 receive FREE admission!

  • May 1 (Fri), 9:30 am-4 pm, "Law Day: Free Legal Services" at Coeur d'Alene Library, 702 E. Front Ave., CdA. Attorneys will help prepare wills & powers-of-attorney from 9:30-11 am in the Jameson Room; 11:15 am-4 pm in the Community Room. Also, from 11:15 am-4 pm in the Community Room, lawyers will be available to answer questions regarding legal forms such as child custody, support, property & debt issues. More info HERE.

  • May 2 (Sat), 8 am-noon, "Arbor Day Celebration" at Q'emiln Park (near Grand Pavilion), 12201 W. Parkway Dr., Post Falls. Experts will teach proper tree planting, pruning & how to choose the proper tree for a particular location. FREE trees will be given to the first 100 attendees! Choices are: "Heritage" Oak, "Valley Forge" Elm, Tulip Tree, & "Golden Falls" Redbud. The FREE event is sponsored by City of Post Falls.

  • May 30 (Sat), 2-3 pm, "Yankee Doodle Pet Parade" sponsored by Post Falls Chamber of Commerce with parade entries lining up at 1:30 on the north side of Post Falls City Hall, 201 E. 4th Avenue, then traveling from 5th & William to 4th & William, & back to city hall. Pets should be dressed in historical or patriotic costumes to help celebrate America's 250 years & as part of Post Falls' Early Years Historical Food Festival. Parade participation is FREE with the best dressed pet receiving a prize.

  • June 6 (Sat), 10 am-noon, "3rd Annual Classic Car Show" at Idaho State Veterans Home, 590 S. Pleasant View Rd., Post Falls. Cars & car clubs welcome - FREE entry! Plan on arriving between 9-9:45 am. To register, contact Kady Aamot, CTRS Activity & Volunteer Coordinator at 208-415-3436 or email kady.aamot@veterans.idaho.gov. There will be live country  music, BBQ, fresh donuts & a coffee truck. 

  • June 13 (Sat), 9-11 am, "Rathdrum Youth Fishing Derby" at Rathdrum City Park, 15456 N. Latah Street. FREE event for kids ages 14 years & younger, sponsored by Rathdrum Parks & Rec, & Idaho Fish & Game. Creek will be dammed & stocked w/fish. No license required for youth; take fishing pole & live bait such as worms, & barbless hooks (if possible; otherwise they will be provided while supplies last). Register online HERE or at park.   • June 27 (Sat), 11 am-2 pm, "Dog Days of Summerfest" at Stoddard Park, 8064 N. Ainsworth Dr., Hayden. A true canine celebration, sponsored by City of Hayden, features a K9 Demo by Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, dog-friendly vendors, kids' playground, AKC Canine Good Citizen Testing Demo, & more. FREE for all ages! 

  • July 12 (Sun), 10 am-3 pm, "Northwest Classic Car, Bike & Hot Rod Show" at The Club at Prairie Falls, 3200 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. FREE for spectators - check out the lineup of masterpieces on the event lawn. Entry fee for cars is $25. Vehicles are asked to arrive between 9-9:45 am. Judging begins at 1 pm; ends at 3 pm w/prizes awarded. Limited to model years 1980 & older. Registration & more info HERE.
