  • Oct 8 (Sat), 4-6 pm, "Country Masquerade Dance" at Athol Community Center, 30355 3rd Street. All ages invited - FREE w/refreshments too! Learn to line dance with Sandy. Contact Athol Library for more info - 208-683-2979. (Ask about mask-making day Sept 30, 1-5 pm at library.) 

  • Oct 8 (Sat), 6 pm, "Make-Up Movie Night: Ron's Gone Wrong" at Lakeland Middle School Gym, 15601 N. Hwy 41, Rathdrum. Family-friendly movie provided by Rathdrum Parks & Recreation.

  • Oct 12 (Wed), 10 am-1 pm, "Dept. of Labor Job Fair" at Real Life Ministries, 1860 N. Cecil Rd., Post Falls. Multiple employers on site & ready to hire. Go w/resume & dressed for interview. More info - 208-457-8789.

  • Oct 14 (Fri), 5-8 pm, "ArtWalk" in downtown CdA. Stroll along with the family, drop into art studios, sample wine/appetizers, hear local  musican singer/songwriters, & don't miss artists' demonstrations.

  • Oct 22 (Sat), 7:30-11 am, "Veterans Stand Down Winter Blitz" at Osburn VFW Post #1675, 318 E. Mullan Avenue. In appreciation, veterans will receive winter clothing, blankets, hygiene items, canned food & more. Also sponsored by Kellogg Elks Lodge #1841, this event is open to all veterans.   • Oct 25 (Tues), 10 am-noon, "Lake Clean-Up Day" along the shores (2 locations) of Lake CdA w/Hagadone Marine Group & Lake CdA Cruises. Garbage bags & gloves will be provided at meeting places: 1) Cedars Floating Restaurant & 2) base of Tubbs HIll at The Buoy Bar & Grill. More info - contact Molly at mmulholland@hagadonemarine.com.   • Oct 8 (Sat), 10 am-noon, "GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays" by Real Life Ministries, 708 N. Division St., Pinehurst. Learn how to handle stress & loss of loved ones during holiday season. Workbook & snacks provided FREE of charge.

  • Oct 13 (Thurs), 6-8 pm, "Evening of Hope" for cancer warriors, survivors & their friends/family at Post Falls Library. Open to the public, the get-together features guest speakers on relevant topics. Also: (2nd Thurs) Nov 10 & Dec 8.

  • Oct 19 (Wed), 5:30-7 pm, "Volunteer Orientation" at Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., CdA. Many ways to help - patient care/spiritual, bereavement, office support, thrift store, gardening, fundraising & more. Sign up by calling 208-772-7994.

  • Oct 20 (Thurs), 1-2 pm, "Mommy-to-Be Basics Class" at Panhandle Health District, 8500 N. Atlas Rd., Hayden. Includes nutrition tips, breastfeeding support, dental care & social time with other pregnant moms. Receive a FREE baby care bag when you register. Call 208-415-5100. In-person or virtual.   • Oct 25 (Tues), 11:30 am-12:30 pm, "10 Tips to Boost Your Energy" by Humana at Hayden Library, 8385 N. Gov't Way. Register by noon Oct 24 by calling 208-772-512. Lunch provided FREE also.

  • Oct 26 (Wed), 1-3 pm, "Stop the Bleed" class at Kootenai Health Campus, 2003 Kootenai Health Way, CdA. Save a life by learning basics of bleeding control. Open to the public, & FREE! Pre-registration required by calling 208-625-5722 or email trauma@kh.org. Space is limited. More class dates: Nov 30 & Dec 28 (all Wednesdays, 1-3 pm).

  • Oct 27 (Thurs), 6-7:30 pm, "We Are All Mortal: Preparing for the End" at Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., CdA. A three-part series by Dr. Ryan Odom includes Q&A session after each session (Life Support-Oct 27; & Communication, Nov 17). Register HERE.

  • Nov 2 (Wed), 6-7:30 pm, "Families Talking Together Workshop" at Panhandle Health District, 8500 N. Atlas Rd., Hayden. FREE workshop to empower parents to talk to their children about difficult topics such as healthy relationships, & "the birds & the bees". For parents/guardians of youth ages 10-14. Register HERE.

  • Oct 5 (Wed), 11 am-1 pm, "Mobile Market" at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 15 S. Division St., Pinehurst. FREE food for those facing hunger distributed via drive-thru.

  • Oct 7 (Fri), 11 am-1 pm, "Mobile Market" by 2nd Harvest at First Lutheran Church, 526 S. Olive Ave., Sandpoint. Drive-thru distribution for up to 250 families facing hunger.

  • Oct 13 (Thurs), 11 am-1 pm, "Mobile Market" by 2nd Harvest at Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., CdA. Fresh & pre-packed food items for families (up to 250) facing hunger via drive-thru.

  • Oct 20 (Thurs), 11 am-1 pm, "Mobile Market" at Walmart Ponderay, 476999 Hwy 95, Ponderay. A FREE drive-thru food distribution for people facing hunger. Nonperishable & fresh items will be available for up to 250 families.

  • Oct 25 (Tues), 11 am-1 pm, "Mobile Market" at Walmart Hayden, 550 W. Honeysuckle Avenue. For up to 250 families in need of food, a drive-thru distribution of fresh & nonperishable items.

  • Oct 28 (Fri), 11 am-1 pm, "Mobile Market" by 2nd Harvest at St. Maries Cormana Bldg., 1101 W. Idaho Ave., St. Maries. Fresh & pre-packed food items for families (up to 250) facing hunger via drive-thru.

  • Oct 6 (Thurs), 5-6 pm, "Gardening in Benewah: Preserving the Harvest" at St. Maries Library. FREE class offered by Benewah Co. Master Gardeners. More info - 208-245-3732. More area gardening HERE.

  • Oct 7 (Fri), 1-3 pm, "Coffee & Coloring" at Hayden Library. Socialize while being artsy every Friday. For adults w/coffee & coloring supplies provided.

  • Oct 12 (Wed), 11 am, "Pumpkin Patch Storytime" at Prairie Home Farm, 7780 N. Atlas Rd., CdA. Stories, songs & FREE books! Geared to ages 2-6, but families with all ages are welcome. 

  • Oct 12 (Wed), 3-5 pm, "Costume Swap" at Post Falls Library. "Shop" for a FREE Halloween costume! For those who donate clean, gently-used costumes Oct 3-10, a ticket for early entry on day of swap (30 minutes early) will be given.
