  • Jan 29 (Wed), 8 am-5 pm, "Veteran Ski Day" at Silver Mountain, 610 Bunker Ave., Kellogg. Veterans of the U.S. military who have served in any war zone (& a guest) are invited to join Veterans Community Response for a FREE day of skiing/boarding. Tickets, gear & lessons will be provided, if needed. Lunch provided too. Email vcr-retreats@vetcomres.org to sign up. Space is limited.

  • Feb 1 (Sat), 11 am-3 pm, "Winterfest-Outhouse Races" sponsored by Spirit Lake Park & Recreation on 4th St. between Washington & Maine Streets. Races begin at noon & are FREE for spectators. For participation, see spec requirements & pre-registration form HERE. 

  • FREE TAX PREPARATION BY AARP TAX-AIDE >

  • Feb 14 (Fri), 5-8 pm, "ArtWalk" the sidewalks of downtown CdA. A FREE & fun evening for all ages visiting galleries, watching artists at work & hearing musicians serenade the crowds. Enjoy pop-up art displays, complimentary beverages/food & the local hospitality vibe. Click HERE for more info & map. ArtWalk takes place on the 2nd Friday of each month.

  • Feb 14-16 (Fri-Sun), "7th Annual Extreme Ski Jor!" in downtown Wallace, featuring skiers/snowboarders pulled by tracked ATVs. Includes big air excitement for family fun - FREE for spectators. More info HERE.

  • Feb 19-21, "Safety Fest of the Great Northwest" at NIC Workforce Training Center, 525 S. Clearwater Loop, Post Falls. FREE training over (3) days dedicated to making this region a safe place to work & live. Safety & health classes, demonstrations, workshops, & certifications are offered to the public.   • Jan 21 (Tues), 4:30-6:30 pm, "Community Dinner" at Cup of Grace, 31848 N. 4th Ave., Spirit Lake. FREE dinner & all ages are welcome every Tuesday!

  • Jan 22 (Wed), 11 am-1 pm, "2nd Harvest Mobile Market" at Christian Life Fellowship, 1063 C St., Plummer. For those in need, drive through for fresh & nonperishable items. No app't or paperwork needed. Up to 250 families will be served. 

  • Jan 26 (Sun), 12:30-1:30 pm, "Community Lunch" at Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Rd., CdA. FREE & open to the public!

  • Feb 12 (Wed), 11 am-1 pm, "2nd Harvest Mobile Market" at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15151 N. Meyer Rd., Rathdrum. Drive-thru event for families struggling with food supplies. Fresh & non-perishable food items will be available for up to 250 families. Also March 4 (Tues), 11 am-1 pm, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 15 S. Division St., Pinehurst. 

  • Feb 19 (Wed), 8-9:30 am, "Veterans Appreciation Breakfast" at Legends Park Assisted Living, 1820 N. Legends Pkwy, CdA. Each month veterans & their families are invited to enjoy a full breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, coffee & juices - FREE of charge! Please RSVP to 208-699-6015. Offered every 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Find out about invaluable services available for maximizing independence & quality of life for seniors, individuals w/disabilities & vulnerable adults 18 years & older. 

  • SENIOR COMPANIONS PROGRAM >

  • ​THE WELL is a FREE family wellness program at Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Rd., CdA. (No Kroc membership is needed.) Details HERE.

  • Jan 28 (Tues), 3-4 pm, "QPR Suicide Prevention Training" provided by Panhandle Health District & Suicide Prevention Action Network at Hayden Library. For ages 16+, learn the warning signs of a suicide crisis & how to Question, Persuade, & Refer someone for help.

  • Feb 7 (Fri), 7:30-10 am, "Heart to Heart" by Kootenai Heart Clinic Providers at Hagadone Event Center, 984-986 S. Floating Green Dr., CdA. FREE community screening & educational seminar includes FREE screenings (full lipid panel, glucose & cholesterol reading), a heart-healthy breakfast provided by chefs of the Coeur d'Alene Resort, & an expert seminar from (3) KH cardiology providers.   • Jan 21 (Tues), 4-5 pm, "DIY Animal Calls" at CdA Library for ages 6-12. Use ordinary household objects to craft noisemaking devices that mimic bugling, croaking & warbling. How do animals communicate? Learn that too! Program continues on Jan 28.

  • Jan 22 (Wed), 3:30-4:30 pm, "Robot Club" at Athol Library. Learn through play w/robot theme each week; geared toward kids in kindergarten-5th grade.

  • Jan 23 (Thurs), 4-5 pm, "Piggy Bank Basics" at CdA Library for grades K-3, presented by Global CU. Youngsters can prepare for future by learning money management skills in a fun manner. Also Jan 30 (Thurs), 4-5 pm, for grades 4-8.

  • Jan 25 (Sat), 11:30 am-1:30 pm, "Jigsaw Puzzle Contest" at Kellogg Library is a team competition for adults & teens - no cost to participate! Create your own team of (4), or sign up to be included on a team. Each team (limit of 4 due to space limitations) receives a 500-piece puzzle to complete in (2) hours.   • Jan 26 (Sun), 2-3:30 pm, "Lake City Strings Duo" at CdA Library. An afternoon of live holiday music presented by local talented bands in a cozy, coffee house setting for all to enjoy! Coffee, tea & treats too. Here's the lineup: Feb 23, Bill Bozly; & March 16, St. Patrick's Party.

  • Jan 29 (Wed), 3:30 pm, "Lunar New Year Party" at Athol Library for ages 5-10. Celebrate the "Year of the Snake" w/hands-on play, snacks, crafts & a scavenger hunt. Also: Jan 31 (Fri), 1 pm, at Pinehurst Library.

  • Feb 5 (Wed), 2-4 pm, "High Demand Careers: Your Guide to Landing the Right Job" for ages 18+ at CdA Library. Presented by Equus Workforce Solutions. Explore industries that are hiring, uncover skills valued by employers & find valuable resources. Also: March 5.

  • Feb 8 (Sat), 11 am-2 pm, "Beginning Crochet" at Spirit Lake Library. Learn basic skills; geared toward ages 18+. Also March 8.

  • Feb 8 (Sat), 3-4:30 pm, "Ukulele Club" at CdA Library's Nelson Room. Learn basic skills, instrument tuning, chord positions, strumming patterns, or just join in a jam session. Take your ukulele.

  • Feb 15 (Sat), 11-11:45 am, "Saturday With the Symphony: A Children's Program" at CdA Library. FREE music education program for ages 3+ coordinated by Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra members. Musical performance (classical, jazz, pop or world music), an interactive activity & book reading.

Volunteers help area adults gain basic literacy & computer skills so they can succeed as parents, workers & community members.   • July 12 (Sat), 9 am-2 pm, "Kids' Day Craft Fair" presented by Rathdrum Craft & Farmers' Market at 16114 N. Meyer Rd., Rathdrum.
