  • Dec 2 (Sat), 6-9 pm, "Live Nativity" at New Life Church, 6068 W. Hayden Ave., Rathdrum. A drive-thru experience to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas w/live animals & actors. Sip hot chocolate while tuning in on your radio to listen to the story of Jesus' birth. All are welcome!

  • HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIRS/BAZAARS >

  • Dec 7 (Thurs), 3:30 & 6 pm, "42nd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony" at Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., CdA. Provides a comforting space for remembering loved ones who have passed. A formal program is planned w/calming music, comforting words, a luminary walk & refreshments. Each family in attendance receives a keepsake ornament. Reserve one of two time slots HERE.

  • Dec 7-8 (Thurs-Fri), 5-7 pm, "Christmas Village" at The Cause CDA Church, 1010 E. Sherman Ave., CdA. FREE family event includes train ride under Christmas lights, petting zoo, photos w/Santa, games/candy in village, hot cocoa/cookies & crafts.

  • Dec 8 (Fri), 5-8 pm, "ArtWalk"  in downtown CdA. Stroll the sidewalks, drop into art studios to observe artists at work, hear local musician singer/songwriters, sample wine/appetizers - just take it all in - the spirit of Christmas. Look for the yellow balloons! View map HERE.

  • Dec 9-10 & 16-17 (Sat-Sun), 4:30-7 pm, "A Night in Bethlehem" at Findlay Stadium Stateline Speedway, 1349 N. Beck Rd., Post Falls. Travel back in time to Bethlehem when Christ was born. Visit shops, meet Mary & Joseph. Live nativity begins approx. 6 pm each night. All are invited to this popular annual event - admission is FREE!

  • Dec 10 (Sun), 7:30 am, "Eagle Run & Walk" at Higgens Point, east end of Lake CdA Drive. Meet for a FREE, informal fun run/walk (about a mile on trails around Higgens) to see bald eagles. Take warm clothes, camera & binoculars to watch eagles descend on spawning kokanee salmon in the Wolf Lodge Bay area of Lake CdA. Questions? 208-765-7604

  • Dec 10 (Sun), 3-4 pm, "Memorial Candlelight Ceremony" at Share Hope Memorial Garden, 8th St. & Gilbert Ave., CdA. Hosted by NW Infant Survival & SIDS Alliance, children of any age who have died (including pregnancy loss) will be honored during this ceremony. Small open campfires, snacks & candles will be provided. Gather at 3 pm; family-friendly - children welcome. 

  • Dec 10 (Sun), 3 pm, "International Human Rights Day" at HREI, 414 W. Fort Grounds Dr., CdA. Gather for a fun community event celebrating the 25th anniversary w/music, performing arts, & refreshments, & also the 75th anniversary of the Declation of Human Rights on International Human Rights Day.

  • Dec 12 (Tues), 5-6:30 pm & 6:45-8:15 pm, "Public Safety Appreciation Event" at Coeur d'Alene on Ice skating rink located in McEuen Park, downtown CdA. All current & former first responders are invited to skate for FREE, along with hot cocoa, frozen yogurt, pizza & crafts for kids provided. Hosted by David Faller of Keller Williams CdA.

  • Dec 23 (Sat), 4 pm, "Nativity Church Walk" in downtown Wallace. All are invited - group leaves The Stardust Motel at 4 pm, making stops at Prayer Station, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Church of God & United Church of Christ Congregational. Dessert social at UCC at conclusion of walk.

  • Dec 2 (Sat), 6 pm, "Christmas Potluck" at Carlin Bay Community Hall, SW corner of Hwy 97 & Asbury Rd., Harrison. For those who live on the east side of Lake CdA, take a side dish & your own place setting & beverage of choice. Turkey & ham will be furnished. Go warm up by the fire & sip coffee with neighbors & meet new ones.

  • Dec 3 (Sun), 12:30-1:30 pm, "Community Lunch" at Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Rd., CdA. FREE & open the public every Sunday!

  • Dec 5 (Tues), 4:30-6:30 pm, "Community Dinner" at Cup of Grace, 31848 N. 4th Ave., Spirit Lake. FREE dinner & all ages are welcome! 

  • Dec 6 (Wed), 7-9 am, "The Veteran's Club" at Lyfe Public House, 116 E. Lakeside Ave., CdA. FREE coffee & conversations with local veterans & first responders (current & former). 

  • Dec 6 (Wed), 8-10 am, "Coffee, Donuts & Conversation" at Post Falls American Legion Post #143, 1138 E. Poleline Avenue. Veterans & active military are invited to stop in for refreshments & camaraderie. Non-members are welcome.

  •  Dec 7 (Thurs), 11:30 am-12:30 pm, "Ecumenical Food Kitchen" at First Presbyterian Church, 521 E. Lakeside Ave., CdA. For those in need of nourishment, a hot lunch is served every Thursday. Provided by several local churches, including Lutheran, Catholic, Baptist & Methodist.

  • Dec 15 (Fri), 4:30-6:30 pm, "Free Community Meal" at Athol Community Center, 30399 N. 3rd Street. Sponsored by Bestowing the Basics, this is an opportunity to meet & connect with other members of the community. Look for the pasta bar & outstanding pies. All are welcome!

  • Dec 6 (Wed), 1-3 pm, "Stop the Bleed" class at Kootenai Health, 2003 Kootenai Health Way, CdA. Learn how to recognize & control life-threatening bleeding until professional help arrives. Presented by KH trauma services, sign up or arrange a group class by calling 208-625-5572 or email trauma@kh.org.

  • Dec 7 (Thurs), 5-7 pm, "Eat to Beat Colon Cancer" at Kootenai Health Resource Center, 2003 Kootenai Health Way, CdA. Presentation topics by physicians & other professionals include how to select the right foods (& a live cooking demonstration/tasting), the importance of screening & early detection, & surgical intervention of colon cancer.   • Dec 8 (Fri), 2 pm, "Holiday Craft & Ugly Sweater Party" at CdA Library. Adults can decorate holiday crafts for home or for gifts. Refreshments too! 

  • Dec 9 (Sat), 11 am, "Mudgy, Millie & Santa Sing-Along" for families at CdA Library. Author Susan Nipp will read the new book set in Hawaii w/Mudgy Moose & Millie Mouse present along with Santa Claus. 

  • Dec 9 (Sat), 4-5:30 pm, "Meet Santa Christmas Party" at Spirit Lake Library. Come one, come all to meet Santa, do crafts & hear stories while sipping hot chocolate & eating cookies.

  • Dec 10 (Sun), 1 pm & 3 pm, "Birds of Prey Anniversary Celebration" at CdA Library. Celebrate the 30-year anniversary of this non-profit organization, dedicated to rescuing & rehabilitating injured or displaced area birds. Founder Janie Veltkamp will take eagles, hawks, owls & falcons to the Community Room. Program is recommended for ages 8 & older due to birds needing a quiet environment.

  • Dec 11 (Mon), 10:30 am-noon, "Paws to Read" at CdA Library. Youngsters are invited to read stories to the listening ears of therapy dogs.

  • Dec 14 (Thurs), 4-5 pm, "Christmas Story Hour" at Wallace Library for the whole family. 

  • Dec 21 (Thurs), 4-5 pm, "Feng Shui" at CdA Library, presented by certified consultant Jan Rednall. Learn how to balance & harmonize the energy flow in a space to help improve well-being.

  • Dec 12 (Tues), 10-11:30 am, "Hospice of North Idaho" offers orientation/training for volunteers to prepare them for a role (patient care, fundraising, office support, thrift store, pet or music therapy, spiritual care, respite, bereavement). Hospice of North Idaho is located at 2290 W. Prairie Ave., CdA. Website link HERE.

  • Dec 14 (Thurs), 5:30 pm, "Literacy Project Volunteer Orientation" at NIC's Hedlund Bldg., Room 228, 420 N. College Dr., CdA. An info session on how to get involved in the adult literacy program of The Literacy Project NI. RSVP if willing to check it out - 208-450-2669.

  • Dec 16 (Sat), 9 am, "Wreaths Across America" at Pinegrove Cemetery, 6693 Hwy 53, Rathdrum. Ceremonial wreaths are placed on graves of veterans to honor those who served in the Armed Forces. More info - 208-687-2399.

  • TOYS FOR TOTS - Now thru Dec 21, drop off new, unwrapped toys at Kootenai Co. Sheriff's Office, 5500 N. Gov't Way, CdA. There is a collection box in the lobby for donations.

  • MOBILE SANTA FOOD DRIVE - Santa will travel along city routes collecting food & cash donations for food bank with assistance from CdA Fire Department. Follow Facebook page HERE for details & routes or call 208-769-2340.

  • LIONS RECYCLE FOR SIGHT - collection box at CdA Library & most vision care facilities. Donate old reading glasses, prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses & hearing aids to Coeur d'Alene Lions Club. Items will benefit "Recycle for Sight", a program for people with low to middle incomes who lack access to basic eye care services & who need corrective lenses.

  • Jan 13 (Sat), 10 am-3 pm, "Post Falls Bridal Tour" at (2) locations: Jacklin Arts & Cultural Center, 405 N. Williams Street, & Trailhead Event Center, 12361 W. Parkway Drive. Planning a wedding? Get most of it done in one day by visiting with vendors.

  • Jan 19 (Fri), 6 pm, "Winter Cycling Seminar" at Two Wheeler Dealer, 9551 N. Hwy 95, Hayden. All about winter cycling, bikepacking, snow camping & winter ultra racing. Presented by Iditarod finishers & gear manufacturers, learn how not to die, choose a campsite, frostbite, layering of clothing, types of gear, where to ride, mapping routes & safety considerations. FREE & open to the public!

  • Jan 27-Feb 4, "Winter Lights" by Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association. All ages will enjoy this new FREE illuminated outdoor art experience in downtown CdA. Stroll through a wonderland of large-scale, interactive displays & colorfully-lit sculptures created by local, national & international artists.
