  • June 10 (Sat), 9-11 am, "Rathdrum's Youth Fishing Derby" at Rathdrum City Park, Hwy 53 & Latah Street. For kids ages 14 & under, register HERE. No fishing license required; take fishing pole, worms & barbless hooks (only). Creek in park will be dammed & stocked. Questions?   • June 10-11 (Sat-Sun), "Healthcare Appreciation Weekend" at Silverwood Theme Park, 27643 N. Hwy 95, Athol. FREE admission for all doctors, nurses & frontline healthcare workers. ID required. Family members received discounted tickets too. More info HERE.

Also participating: CdA & Timberlake fire departments, KC Fire & Rescue, Northern Lakes Fire & Rescue, & CdA Police.

  • June 6 (Tues), 4:30-6:30 pm, "FREE Community Meal", served by Cup of Grace, 31848 N. 4th Ave., Spirit Lake. All are invited every Tuesday. Also June 10 (Sat), 11 am-3 pm, an ice cream/open house event.

  • June 7 (Wed), 5-7 pm, "Steak Night - Vets Eat FREE" at Wallace Elks Lodge, 419 Cedar Street. Meal for veterans is complimentary; Elks & guests pay $15. Held every 1st Wednesday.

  • June 8 (Thurs), 11:30 am-12:30 pm, "Ecumenical Food Kitchen" at First Presbyterian Church, 521 E. Lakeside Ave., CdA. For those in need of nourishment, this is a weekly meal provided by several local churches.

  • June 8 (Thurs), 4-5:30 pm, "Friendship Kitchen" serves a warm in-house meal as a ministry of St. George's Catholic Church, 2010 N. Lucas St., Post Falls. Open to the public every Thursday.

  • June 9 (Fri), 4:30-5:30 pm, "Soup Kitchen Ministry" at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft Ave., CdA. To benefit seniors, children, families - all are welcome!

  • June 11 (Sun), 12:30-1:30 pm, "FREE Community Lunch" at Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Rd., CdA. Enjoy a delicious lunch with others.

  • June 20 (Tues), 11 am-1 pm, "2nd Harvest Mobile Market" at St. Maries HS, 424 Hells Gulch Road. A drive-thru event for those struggling with food supplies. Up to 250 families will receive fresh & nonperishables. No app't needed.

  • June 21 (Wed), 5-7 pm, "Feed the Need" at Wallace Elks Lodge #331, 419 Cedar Street. Meals provided for veterans & those in need of a healthy meal. 

  • June 22 (Thurs), 11 am-1 pm, "2nd Harvest Mobile Market" at Walmart, 3050 E. Mullan Ave., Post Falls. Up to 250 families in need of food assistance will receive fresh & non-perishable food items. No app't needed.

  • June 5 (Mon), 6-7 pm, "Macrame Keychains" at Pinehurst Library for teens & adults. Also June 6 (Tues), 11:30-11:45 am. 

  • June 8 (Thurs), 5-6 pm, "Landscape Planting" at St. Maries Library, presented by Benewah Co. Master Gardeners. All are invited. Also: July 13, "Summer Maintenance".

  • June 9 (Fri), 1-2 pm, "Libratory: Trees Around the Globe" at Harrison Library. Learn how to measure trees, record data for scientists around the globe, & make a tree painting. For ages 5-12.

  • June 9 (Fri), 1-3 pm, "Fishing Fun for Kids" at Farragut State Park. All ages can enjoy fishing w/librarians, park rangers, IDFG, Trout Unlimited & see the special fishing trailer. Pick up FREE day pass from Athol Library. Note: Adults will need valid fishing license to fish. 

  • June 10 (Sat), 1 pm, "Learning the Ropes" at Spirit Lake Library. Practice tying knots, hitches & lashings w/2 colors of rope - an excellent hands-on experience. Make fishing knots, rapid ridgeline for tarp tents & more. 

  • June 12 (Mon), 11 am-noon, "Totally Untidy Toddlers - Messy Art" at Pinehurst Library. For ages 2-4, a painting activity with feet, bubble rap, pipettes & other objects. Wear old clothes & plan to use feet for art on the library lawn. 

  • June 12 (Mon), 3 pm, "Kids' Movie" at CdA Library. Travel to Jellystone Park w/Boo-Boo & Ranger Smith during showing of "Yogi Bear" (2010) in community room. Popcorn too!

  • June 14 (Wed), 9:15 am, "Historical Feet Club" meets at CdA Library, then walks to Tubbs HIll to learn about tree species, specific stands of trees in the forest, their age/health along with insects & diseases that pose a threat - about 3 miles w/hills. All are welcome! Additional tour: June 21 (Tubbs Hill Bird Walk).

  • June 17 (Sat), 10 am-noon, "Family STEAM Egg Drop" at Tullamore Park, 3673 E. Bogie Dr., Post Falls. 

  • June 17 (Sat), 11 am, "Saturday With the Symphony" at CdA Library is a children's program. Music-filled festivities & storytime (geared to ages 3+). Register by calling 208-769-2315. Takes place the 3rd Saturday of every month.

  • July 7-9 (Fri-Sun), 11 am-4 pm, "Post Falls Festival" at Q'Emiln Park, 12201 W. Parkway Drive. Events include parade, car show & shine, live music, vendors, food trucks, inflatables for kids, beer garden, movie in the park & more! Parade begins Saturday, 10 am, on Seltice Way, just east of Spokane St. & ending on Idaho Road w/music, dancing, veterans - candy for kids too! Want to participate?   • July15 (Sat), "Spark! Places of Innovation - a Smithsonian Exhibit" in Kellogg (Uptown), 125 McKinley Avenue. Community festival marks the opening day for this 6-week exhibit.
