  • April 13 (Sat), 10:30 am, "Scottish Highland Dance" workshop at Jacklin Arts & Cultural Center, 405 N. William St., Post Falls. FREE of charge for children ages 5+ to learn Scottish dancing.   • April 27 (Sat), 10 am-2 pm, "Community Recycle Day" at Post Falls City Hall, 408 N. Spokane Street. Take advantage of no-cost E-recycling, paper shredding & prescription drug take-back; also drop off old TVs, computers, cell phones. Receive FREE insulated grocery bags, recycling calendars & more. 

  • April 30 (Tues), 7:30 pm, "Spring Celebrations Choral Concert" at NIC's Boswell Hall/Schuler Auditorium, 880 W. Garden Ave., CdA. Hear the sweet sounds of harmonious voices rallying the arrival of Spring. All are invited to this FREE North Idaho College concert!

  • April 17 (Wed), noon, "LOU: Lunch on Us" at Bayview Community Center, 20298 E. Perimeter Rd., Bayview. A community get-together for lunch every Wednesday thru April 24. (April 17 is potluck). Take a dessert to share; $5 donation suggested.

Interested community members must register (required) for one 90-minute time period - noon, 3 pm or 6 pm.   • FREE SWIM LESSONS for adults begin April 22 & continue thru May 3 at CdA's Kroc Center every M-W-F from 6:30-7:30 am. "Adult Learn to Swim" costs $5 & includes a FREE cap & goggles. Taught by Kroc Master's Swim Team, sign up at front desk or online HERE.

  • TEEN QUIT TOBACCO & E-CIGARETTE COURSE is offered by Panhandle Health periodically & is designed for middle/high school students to address lifestyle choices, social skills, stress management, decision-making, goal-setting, nutrition & physical activity.   • April 20 (Sat), 11-11:45 am, "Saturday With the Symphony" at CdA Library. Geared to children ages 3 & older, this educational music program features members of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra. Enjoy a fun musical performance, interactive activity & a book reading.

  • April 22 (Mon), 3:30-5 pm, "Paws to Read" at CdA Library. Young readers can show off their skills to the listening ears of therapy dogs. This popular bimonthly program helps children gain reading confidence.

  • April 24 (Wed), 9 am, "Tubbs HIll Bird Walk" with Ted Smith from the local Audubon chapter. Meet at East Tubbs Hill parking lot w/binoculars.

  • April 30 (Tues), 1-2 pm & 4-5 pm, "Make a May Basket!" at CdA Library for ages 6-12. Create little baskets filled w/flowers, cookies & a special card for doorknob surprises May 1.

  • May 2 (Thurs), 4-6 pm, "Lawyer in the Library" at CdA Library. FREE legal clinics/advice from volunteer attorneys for low-income individuals/families in Idaho who need civil legal services. Registration is required at least 24 hours prior. Register HERE.

  • APRIL SPOTLIGHT ORGANIZATION: Safe Passage Violence Prevention Center > 

  • April 24-25 (Wed-Thurs), 8 am-5 pm, & April 27 (Sat), 10 am-noon, "Child Passenger Safety Technical Training" at CdA Fire Dept. Station 3, 1500 N. 15th St., CdA. Must attend 3 1/2 days of training to be nationally certified for (2) years as a Child Passenger Safety Technician. Additional course requirements: must pass all 3 "Check of Understanding" & attend the final car seat check-up on Aug 27 (Sat). All class materials, registration & snacks will be provided.   • May 4 (Sat), 9 am-1 pm, "Spring is Coming!" so drop off donations for veterans & their families (gently-used clothing, household items, furniture, canned goods, etc. at Newby-ginnings, 570 S. Clearwater Loop, Unit A, Post Falls. Veterans benefit directly from donations to "thrift store" by choosing items FREE of charge. **Note these days are for donations only (closed for shoppers).

All ages are invited to the studio to create a floral bouquet using unique materials (frameable), supplied FREE of charge. Register HERE for one of (4) sessions: 9-10:30 am, 10:30 am-noon, 4:30-5:30 pm & 6-7 pm. Celebrate the age-old tradition of giving flowers to someone on May Day.

  • May 1 (Wed), 3-7 pm, "North Idaho Business Expo & Career Fair" at Kootenai Co. Fairgrounds, 4056 N. Gov't Way, CdA. CdA Regional Chamber & Post Falls Area Chamber combine to host event w/over 80 businesses offering internships, part & full-time jobs. 

  • May 2 (Thurs), 10 am-3 pm, "Veterans Stand Down" at VFW Post 1675, 318 E. Mullan Ave., Osburn. Clothing, blankets, personal hygiene items, fuel & grocery cards will be available for veterans. State & county Veterans' Services Officers will be present too.
