  • Feb 29 (Sat), 9 am-2:30 pm, "North Idaho Regional Spelling Bee" at NIC's Boswell Hall, Classroom #156/NW Lobby/Schuler Performing Arts #121, 880 W. Garden Ave., CdA. Top spellers from grades K-12 at North Idaho schools will compete w/winner qualifying for Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

  • March 6 (Fri), 7 am-4 pm, "Nurses & EMTs Ski Free" at Lookout Pass, I-90 exit at ID/MT state line, Mullan. Also, Toyota/Lexus/Scion drivers ski FREE! Details HERE.

  • March 7 (Sat), 1-3 pm, "2020 Spring Chinook & Kokanee Seminar" at North 40 Outfitters, 170 E. Kathleen Ave., CdA. Gain tips for successful salmon fishing w/Q&A session. More info - 208-666-0506.

  • March 5 & 19 (Thurs), 5-7:30 pm, "Inland NW Bluegrass Jam Session" at Post Falls Library. Be in the "circle jam", so take instruments & voices for bluegrass, folk & country music fun. Light refreshments served.

  • March 10 (Tues), 7:30 pm, "Choral Kaleidoscope" at NIC's Schuler Performing Arts Center, 880 W. Garden Ave., CdA. Featuring Cardinal Chorale, Vocal Jazz & Chamber Singers. FREE & open to the public!

  • March 12 (Thurs), 6-9 pm, "Wild & Scenic Film Festival" at NIC's Schuler Performing Arts Center, 880 W. Garden Ave., CdA. Presented by Kootenai Environmental Alliance, NIC students may attend FREE of charge w/student ID; otherwise, admission is $15 per person, which supports KEA's Waterkeeper Program. More info/tickets HERE.

  • March 13 (Fri), 5-8 pm, "Music Walk. Stroll the sidewalks of downtown CdA, dropping by art studios & other businesses to sample wine & appetizers as you listen to local musicians/songwriters perform - a relaxing evening for the whole family & FREE! For more details & map, click HERE.

  • March 19 (Thurs), 6:30-8 pm, "Screenagers - Like" at Hayden Discount Cinema, 300 W. Centa Dr., Hayden. Third & final part of series on how tech time impacts children's lives w/discussion following screening. Get FREE tickets HERE.

  • March 20 (Fri), 6:30-8 pm, "FREE Movie Night: The Pollinators" at Pilgrim's Market, 1316 N. 4th St., CdA. Film follows migratory beekeepers & their truckloads of honey bees as the insects pollinate flowers which become our fruits, nuts & vegetables. RSVP to jessica at demo@pilgrimsmarket.com.

  • March 9 (Mon), "Developmental Screening" for all children in CdA School District, ages 0-5 will take place at Ramsey Elementary School in CdA, This FREE screening will check vision/hearing, speech/language skills, fine & gross motor skills, self-help skills & more.   • March 12 (Thurs), 5:30-6:30 pm, "Safe Sleep 101" at Inland NW SIDS Foundation, 1130 N. 4th St., CDA. Learn how to keep baby safe while sleeping. Each family receives a FREE Halo Sleep Sack too! Register HERE.

  • March 12 (Thurs), 6-7:30 pm, "Evening of Hope" at Post Falls Library. Cancer-related topics are presented by medical experts.

  • March 18 (Wed), 10 am-7 pm, "Dental Day" provided by Panhandle Health District, 8500 N. Atlas Rd., Hayden. Provided monthly on the 3rd Wednesday. FREE or low cost dental care for children ages 3-17 & pregnant women. Dental hygienist provides oral health check, teeth cleaning, fluoride varnish & referrals.   • Feb 28 (Fri), 6-8 pm, CdA (teens), "Teen Movie Night: Harriet (PG-13)". Features the life of heroic abolitionist, Harriet Tubman. For ages 12-19 w/pizza provided.

  • Feb 29 (Sat), 1-3 pm, Spirit Lake (adults), "Make Your Own Bookmarks". Decorate a shepherd's crook w/beaded pendant. Materials provided. Must RSVP to 208-623-5353 due to space limitations.

  • March 1 (Sun), 1:30 pm, Post Falls (adults), "LibertySeed: the Birth of Our Nation". Why April 19, 1775 changed our nation's course, presented by Revolutionary War Veterans Association.

  • March 2 & 3 (Mon & Tues), noon, Pinehurst (adults), "Rustic: No Knead Bread". A two-part class, make dough & taste bread. Learn the art of handling dough & bake rolls at the library. RSVP required, so call 208-682-3483 or stop at front desk to sign up.

  • March 5 (Thurs), 1 pm, Rathdrum (adults), "Composting Class wi/Sue Bockelman". How to start & maintain a compost "pile" will be taught. at Rathdrum.

  • March 10 (Tues), 11 am-noon, Hayden (adults), "Family History" taught by Pam Duce. The series of classes explores how to do genealogy searches, with different topics taught each time. Next gatherings will be March 24, April 7 & 21; May 12 & 19.

  • March 14 (Sat), 10:30 am-noon, Hayden (adults), "19th Century Women Settlers Confront the Far West" by ancestral studies expert, Kim Morgan.
