Wreath-laying ceremony to coordinate w/Arlington National Cemetery event, in addition to more than 1,100 locations across the U.S., at sea & abroad.   • Dec 15 (Sun), 8 am-1 pm, "Wallace Christmas Fund Wrapping Event" at Wallace Elks Lodge 331, 419 Cedar Street. Volunteers are needed to wrap presents for Wallace School District families in need of toys, clothes & necessities during this holiday season. More info - 208-512-0504.

  • Dec 18 (Wed), 6 pm, "Remembrance Service & Candlelight Ceremony" at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. 4th St., CdA. All are invited to this celebration of life, not only those who have recently lost loved ones. Refreshments will be provided. More info - 208-664-3143.

  • Dec 17 (Tues), 2-3:30 pm, "Geezer Forum: New Technologies in Caregiving" at Hayden Library. Presented by Comfort Keepers Kat Vercruyssen, certified senior advisor.

  • Dec 17 (Tues), 6-7:30 pm, "Health Insurance Q&A" at Hayden Library. How to find the right policy, understand benefits & changes in Medicaid expansion.

  • Dec 13 (Fri), 5-8 pm, "Art Walk" in downtown CdA. A FREE family event - stroll along to admire the work of local & nationally-acclaimed artists. Visit galleries, shops, restaurants & HREI to see demonstrations, enjoy music & wine. See map HERE.

  • Dec 15 (Sun), 10:30 am, "Kids' Christmas Musical" at CdA Bible Church, 5350 N. 4th St,, CdA. Program offers drama, music & great message about acts of kindness.

  • Dec 17 (Tues), 6-7:30 pm, "Christmas Chorale", presented by Classical Christian Academy, 6068 W. Hayden Ave., Rathdrum. All are welcome; FREE!

  • Dec 21 (Sat), 10:30-11:30 am, "Saturday with the Symphony" at CdA Library. Classical music is performed by members of CdA Symphony Orchestra. Children & parents are invited to stay & talk to musicians. Also learn about instruments up-close.

  • Dec 14 (Sat), 11 am-noon, CdA (all ages), "Holiday Sing-Along with Mudgy & Santa". Author & "Wee Sing" co-creator Susan Nipp will lead sing-along with children. Photos w/Santa, Mudgy & Millie.

  • Dec 14 (Sat), 3:45-4:45 pm, Harrison (teens), "Teen & Family Program". Geared to grades 6-12, decorate cookies & make pipecleaner candy canes. Families welcome.

  • Dec 14 (Sat), 4-5:30 pm, CdA (teens), "White Elephant Gift Exchange". Take a serious or silly wrapped gift (value $5 - new or used) which can be swapped/stolen for fun. Sock-ball fight, cocoa & popcorn too!

  • Dec 15 (Sun), 2-4 pm, Post Falls (all ages), "Holiday Matinee: "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" - PG. From 1964, all are invited for a FREE showing of this cult classic (supposedly one of the worst movies ever made.) Wear an ugly holiday sweater. Popcorn & hot cocoa bar.

  • Dec 18 (Wed), 5-7 pm, Hayden (all ages), "Star Wars Night". An evening of games, trivia, snacks, tech demos & costumes. More info - 208-772-5612.

  • Dec 19 (Thurs), 10:30-11:30 am, Spirit Lake (kids), "Kids' Holiday Party". Geared to ages 2-5, all are welcome. It's party time - treats, games & crafts!

  • Dec 27 (Fri), 6-7:40 pm, CdA (teens), "Teen Movie: A Christmas Story" (PG-13). For ages 12-19, see retro holiday classic movie about Ralphie & his BB gun. Pizza & hot chocolate provided.

  • Dec 30 (Mon), 11 am-noon, Silver Lake Mall, 200 W. Hanley Ave., CdA. "Noon Years' Eve Party", sponsored by Friends of Community Library Network, is geared to ages 2-8. Wear silly or fancy party attire to dance, snack & craft in celebration of the new year.
