Thursday Night "Paddles"
Grab paddles & oars for skimming across area lake & river waterways on Thursday evenings with COEUR D'ALENE CANOE & KAYAK CLUB. Non-members are invited to join the group for "Thursday Night Paddles" FREE of charge! Be ready to launch at 6 pm sharp.

Life jackets must be worn. A whistle or other sound-producing device is also required, & the invasive species sticker must be on vessel. Dress appropriately for conditions/water temperature. Extra water & a snack is suggested for these easy, approx. 2-hour trips.
Allow enough time to unload vessel, stow gear & sign in w/trip coordinator before the appointed launch time of 6 pm. New paddlers are welcome. All are responsible for their own personal safety.

Cars & Coffee Gathering
Every Saturday | 8-11 am
CARS & COFFEE meets every Saturday morning in the parking lot of Church of the Nazarene, 4000 N. 4th St., CdA.
For all car enthusiasts, there's no cost to attend, no registration - just show up, park & hang out. Muscle, Euro, JDM, lifted trucks or vintage classics - all are welcome!
Car clubs are welcome to roll in too. Arrive & leave quietly...shhhh - no burnouts, revving or loud exits.

Public Shooting Ranges

Operated by volunteers & through donations, the range is open to the public every day & FREE of charge. There are three separate areas - archery, rifles & handgun - as well as 8 covered shooting benches & a 500-yard gong.
Visitors are asked to clean up, respect others & follow safety rules.

Cost is $5 per youth shooter (under age 18) per day; $10 adults - cash only, plus park entrance fee. On site are vault toilets & covered shooting areas. Eye/ear protection, reloading brass, shooting clays & bottled water may be purchased. Can be reserved for private events.

No-Drop Group Road Ride

Go pedaling with others - a group ride with road bikes (ebikes welcome) on Wednesday mornings.
Roll out at 9 am sharp from TWO WHEELER DEALER in Hayden for a distance of 20-25 miles at 13-15 mph (no drop). All levels are welcome & no one gets left behind. Take bike, helmet, water & good vibes. :-)

FREE skiing lessons for ages 6-17 & FREE snowboarding lessons for ages 7-17 are available on Saturdays (seasonal).
Register online (link is above). Participants must attend a FREE ski school lesson within the first 3 weeks of the program, which lasts for nine weeks. Instruction separates beginners from intermediate & advanced.
For over 80 seasons, Lookout Pass Free Ski School has introduced 38,000+ kids to the winter world of skiing/riding.

Fleet Feet Running Group

Join FF's run/walk program - it's FREE! Run or walk with the group which heads out from CdA's Fleet Feet store every Saturday morning. Keep moving when it's chilly outside (or go before it heats up), stay motivated & make some new friendships along the way. Routes are mostly short loops. All paces are welcome to run/walk 3 minutes or three miles.

Hilly Nilly Gravel Rides
Sundays (3rd) | 10 am
Leaves from Michael D's Eatery, 203 E. Coeur d'Alene Lake Dr., CdA.
This series of spirited gravel loop rides occur usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Open to the public, riders must be self-supported. There is no fee to participate.
Each fun ride gets longer, climbs higher, & helps prepare riders for summer activities.

Ride by the Light of the Full Moon
CdA FULL MOON RIDE is a monthly seasonal community bike ride - FREE of charge - - which covers 2-4 miles usually (cruiser speed) around town. Go early at 7 pm for social time at Vantage Point Brewing Co. 208 E. Coeur d'Alene Lake Dr., CdA; or meet w/other group riders for the ride only beginning at 8 pm.
Held on a full moon evening, destinations vary & begin at 9 pm (listen for the cowbell.) Helmets are recommended & lights are necesssary since ride takes place when it's dark.

Quick Legs, Hills & Scenery

Open to the public & FREE, these group rides occur (4) times each week during Spring/Summer months:

Open Riding at Fairgrounds

Open every day from dawn until dusk for a minimal fee - $5 per horse. Enjoy some fresh air, easy access & riding w/horse friends! Helmets are strongly recommended.
Arena will be worked (3) times per week. Waivers are required & rules adhered to; ride at your own risk. No lights will be turned on.
Riding available May through the end of October, except week of the fair in August. Click HERE for Info on fee payment & waiver signing.
**Kootenai County 4-H Horse Groups are welcome to ride FREE of charge! Please reserve the arena (2) weeks in advance.

Idaho Trails Association
For those interested in North Idaho trail maintenance, IDAHO TRAILS ASSOCIATION welcomes all ages & skill levels. Projects include: one day, weekend, backpacking, weeklong, & special youth events. As a seasonal activity, Thursday guided hikes of 5-7 miles have a morning departure from a CdA location. Enjoy the camaraderie & get outside - it's FREE to participate! Maintenance work by volunteers may include removing brush, cutting & removing downed trees, tread work w/shovels/Pullaskis, & bridge construction/repair in the Silver Valley, Avery/St. Joe & Athol/Bayview.
