"Take Me Fishing" IDFG Free Days

IDFG is back for 2021 with the popular "Take Me Fishing" program. No license is needed & equipment/bait is provided if you fish at these various locations on these days & times. (Must check in at blue trailer upon arrival.)

 

All ages are welcome! This year pre-registration is required. HERE is the link - click on "Panhandle" region. Geared to new anglers, instruction is even provided.

FARRAGUT PUBLIC SHOOTING RANGE

Features year-round public access to 50, 100 & 200-yard ranges, plus shotgun trap & archery shooting. Details HERE.

 

Cost is $5 per shooter per day, regardless of age (cash only); plus park entrance fee. On site are vault toilets & covered shooting areas. Eye/ear protection, reloading brass, shooting clays & bottled water may be purchased. Can be reserved for private events.

SHOSHONE COUNTY PUBLIC SHOOTING RANGE

Operated by volunteers & through donations, the range is open to the public & FREE of charge. There are three separate areas - archery, rifles & handgun - as well as 8 covered shooting benches & a 500-yard gong.

 

Visitors are asked to clean up, respect others & follow safety rules. Range host is Ray Huffman.

This monthly community bike ride - FREE of charge to go along - covers 2-4 miles usually, making stops at businesses along the way & a stop at Independence Point for a group photo.

"Hilly Nilly Gravel Series" takes place on hilly courses - paved & gravel roads. Bicycles will travel 20-40+ miles. Participate FREE of charge on Sunday mornings; however, there's no support.

Monday nights are for women only on mountain bike rides. Leave shop at 6 pm. All levels welcome.

Tuesday night rides travel a challenging mountain bike course. Leaves shop at 6 pm, or Upper Nettleton parking lot at 6:30 pm. Will be a spirited/competitive pace.

Thursday's group rides at a casual pace, leaving from shop at 6 pm, or Upper Nettleton parking lot at 6:30 pm. Want more action? Go Saturday when riders experience a spirited/competitive-paced road ride on an established course.

It is advised that riders call the shop the day of the FREE event to confirm - 208-667-5503.
