Join FF's winter run/walk program - it's FREE! Run or walk with the group which heads out (3) times a week from CdA's Fleet Feet store - on Tuesday & Thursday evenings, & Saturday mornings.
Go as often or seldom as you want; sign-ups are at the store. The goal is to keep moving, stay motivated & make some new friendships along the way. Routes are mostly short loops, with raffles, attendance prizes & hot cider afterward at Fleet Feet.
So take warm gear & headlamps/reflective pieces for night outings. And, don't complain about weather conditions - stay positive.

Quick Legs, Hills & Scenery
Saturdays | noon (until it snows)
"Saturday Ride"
Open to the public & FREE, these group rides occur (3) times each week during summer months. In the Fall, Saturday rides continue until the snow falls, leaving at 12:05 pm from Workhorse Office, 1324 E. Sherman Ave., CdA.

Ride by the Light of the Full Moon
This monthly community bike ride - FREE of charge to go along - covers 2-4 miles usually (cruiser speed) around town. Meeting location & departure times vary from month to month (see above).

Held on a full moon evening, destinations vary & begin at 8 pm (Listen for the cowbell.) Helmets are recommended & lights are necesssary since ride takes place when it's dark.

"Take Me Fishing" Trailers

IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF FISH & GAME takes its colorful "Take Me Fishing" trailer to various lakes/ponds during the summer months to offer FREE fishing for all ages!

"How to" instruction & fishing tackle/bait is provided so all can learn how to fish & be successful at the sport. No license is required during the hours of the event; just check in first at the trailer.

Public Shooting Ranges

Operated by volunteers & through donations, the range is open to the public every day & FREE of charge. There are three separate areas - archery, rifles & handgun - as well as 8 covered shooting benches & a 500-yard gong.

Thursday Night "Paddles"
2024 | 6 pm
Grab paddles & oars for skimming across area lake waters on Thursday evenings with COEUR D'ALENE CANOE & KAYAK CLUB. Non-members are invited to join the group for "Thursday Night Paddles", touring different waterways each week.

Life jackets are required & must be worn for CCKC-sponsored paddles. A whistle or other sound-producing device is also required, & the invasive species sticker on vessel. Dress appropriately for conditions/water temperature. Extra water & a snack is suggested.
​
Allow enough time to unload vessel, stow gear & sign in w/trip coordinator before the appointed launch time.

FREE skiing lessons for ages 6-17 & FREE snowboarding lessons for ages 7-17 are available on Saturdays beginning Jan 6.​

Register online (link is above). Participants must attend a FREE ski school lesson within the first 3 weeks of the program, which lasts for nine weeks. Instruction separates beginners from intermediate & advanced.
For 77 seasons, Lookout Pass Free Ski School has introduced 38,000+ kids to the winter world of skiing/riding.

Hilly Nilly Gravel Rides

This series of spirited rides occur on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Open to the public, riders must be self -supported. There is no fee to participate.
Each fun ride gets longer, climbs higher, & helps prepare riders for summer activities.
